Shun's new CM!

Shun has a new cm, which he has filmed with 3 other stars; Eita, Miura Haruma, and Tsumabuki Satoshi.
It's a cm for beauty brand Shiseido to promote their new men's hair product range 'Uno'. The cm was shot in England, and has a "British feel" to it.

Here's the cm:

Ratings update + 'Tajomaru' movie poster

Firstly, the ratings report on Tenchijin's ratings as of 27th of august...I'm afraid it's bad news...unfortunately the ratings for ep 34 aired on the 23rd, reached its lowest rating yet; 14.9%, that's a massive fall from last week's 20.3%!I don't know what happened, but all the other dramas aired on that night did not have very good ratings either. And now that the much anticipated season 4 of the popular series Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji has just began airing with outstanding ratings, I'm afraid Tenchijin may not be able to hold its title of "No.1 rated drama for the season" for long
But look on the bright side, even if it does lose its title, at least it would still be no.2, since the drama's ratings overall are still exceptional, usually above 20% (higher than KB24J ep 2 & 3), and much higher than all the other dramas airing this season (apart from KB24J).
Let's hope the ratings will recover for next week's ep! Whenever the ratings for this drama fall, it tends to shoot back up again the following week, so it's likely next week will be betterlet's hope.

Secondly, I've found the official movie poster for Tajomaru!

Shun sure looks fierce on the poster with that look! Can't wait for the movie! There's still less than a month till it comes out in Japan.

[News] New role for Shun!

Great news! Shun has a new acting role! And it sounds like yet another lead role for him! Sugoi! This is his 6th acting role this year alone (including leads, supporting and cameos)!

Oguri, Mizushima star in Fuji TV cop drama [25/8/2009]:

Fuji TV has unveiled its next Monday night drama series. Tentatively titled "Tokyo DOGS ~Saiaku de Saikou no Partner~," the show will feature popular actors Shun Oguri (26) and Hiro Mizushima (25) teaming up as police detectives.

"Tokyo DOGS" will be the first true police drama to air in Fuji TV's Monday 9:00pm time slot. This is also the first time for either actor to be cast in that time slot.

Oguri has the starring role as Sou Takakura, who witnessed his father's murder at a young age. Pledging to catch the killer, he grows up to become an elite cop in New York City, where the criminal lives. His character is cool-headed and disciplined, yet adapts well. Because of major drug dealings, he gets sent to Tokyo to conduct a joint investigation with the Japanese police. There, he gets teamed up with a detective from a special investigative division (Mizushima).

Mizushima's character is a hot-blooded fighting expert due to his earlier days as a delinquent, but he makes a strong impression with his stylish appearance and is always interested in going on group dates. His personality, interests, and investigation methods are completely mismatched with Oguri's, but the two somehow work together to crack the case they've been given.

Cast in the heroine role is Yuriko Yoshitaka (21), playing a mysterious woman who holds the key to the case, though she has lost part of her memory due to trauma. Her relationship to the two actors will also be one of the drama's key points.

"Tokyo DOGS" will premiere this October.

[News] Is Oguri Shun a Hard Drinker!? Fellow Cast Members Reveal Oguri’s True Self

Is Oguri Shun a Hard Drinker!? Fellow Cast Members Reveal Oguri’s True Self [24/8/2009]:

In the new movie ‘TAJOMARU’, Oguri Shun becomes Tajomaru, a leader of a group of thieves. His costars talked about a less known side of Oguri.

In the film the group of 4 robbers loot and pillage during the day, then enjoy partying at night. But a similar gathering had been going on right after the filming sessions.
The members talked fondly about the nightly ‘banquet’, where they drank themselves silly.
“At first we were just enjoying a few drinks! But we eventually began to realize that the drinking could go on for ages until someone collapses…from then on it became a battle over who should go over the brink.”
All the members said that Oguri had been the head honcho of this merry mayhem.
“[Oguri] Shun will go around telling each of us to drink more. But when someone suggests Shun to drink, he’ll say he already had enough (laugh). In the end, instead of the five of us drinking together, it clearly become a ‘fight’ of four versus one.”
Apparently Oguri continued to be Tajomaru not just on but off the screen as well.

“Us for and the thieves are essentially the same.
Why did the burglars fight alongside Tajomaru to the death?
It’s because when drinking with Tajomaru you have such a great time! It’s the same with Shun. It’s fun to drink with him.
That’s why he is the leader in the film, and also why he leads us even when we’re not filming!”

When I read the headline, I initially thought this was going to be yet another ridiculous rumor about Shun's drinking, I'm glad it's nothing negative!
Looking forward to the movie!

Shun on MNet Wide 'Super 100 flower boys 2009' list!

Ok, so this list came out back in February, and yet I only noticed it just a little while ago!
A lot of you may have seen it already since it's been out for quite a long time now...but I thought I should still post it up, in case there's fans like me out there who haven't seen it until now...

Korea's MNet yearly top 100 list of "flower boys" always creates much hype, and this year's results has been especially exciting for me, because our very own Shun-kun is on the list! Not only that, he's in the top 10!Which is a rarity...since this is a Korea-based popularity ranking, yearly, the list mainly consists of Korean celebs...with a few non-Koreans in between, and it's not easy for a non-Korean star to have a high position in one of these Korean-based rankings. Yet Shun-kun is very high up on the list at #9, which is quite incredible! He and Matsumoto Jun are the only non-Korean stars in the top 10, omedatou to both!

here's the top 10:
1. Lee Minho
2. Kang Dong Won
3. Kim Bum
4. Yoongwoong Jaejoong (DBSK)
5. Matsumoto Jun (Arashi)
6. Kim Hyunjoong (SS501)
7. Nick Khun
8. Jung Il Woo
9. Oguri Shun
10. Jo In Sung

Ratings update (August 17)

The average rating for Tenchijin ep 33 (aired on the 16th, last night) is in, and it's still very good...20.3%, wasn't nearly as high as last week's outstanding rating, but at least it still passed 20%
