Tajomaru

Just checked Shun's LJ for the first time in a long while...there's been quite a few updates.

Shunbaby was kind enough to post the synopsis of Shun's new movie Tajomaru.
I'll just summarize it...basically it's about Naomitsu (Shun), who is engaged to Princess Ako (Shibamoto Yuki), they were chased away from their home due to a conspiracy of some sort against Naomitsu. They flee to the mountains but were attacked by a bandit called Tajomaru (Matsukata Hiroki), Naomitsu manages to kill him and took his identity.
This movie is based on a 1922 short story 'In a Grove' written by Ryunosuke Akutagawa, which is based on a true story, there are 7 different perspectives of the event, there were witnesses who claimed to have seen the event. the short story was from 1 of the perspectives. There was another film came out in 1950 which was also based on the event.
The character of Tajomaru is going to have a different backstory in this movie.

1) Scoll down to the middle of the page, and you will see 4 big boxes, each for the individual characters. Hanazawa Rui is the top box on the right.
2) You will see a little grey box, to vote for Shun, choose the second option that reads 日版:小栗旬

There's no specific voting limit, so you can vote as much as you like, you can even vote every few seconds!

Note: you can also vote for the other Japanese HYD casts...the first box on the left is for Domyoji Tsukasa, the box below it is for Nishikado Sojiro, and the second box on the right below Hanazawa Rui's is Mimasaka Akira's. For reference, the Japanese casts are always the second option in the polls.

[News] DIRECTOR Shun!

The latest BIG news! Shun will soon become a verified DIRECTOR! He will be directing his own movie!

here's the article:

Shun Oguri directs a movie [3/6/09]:

Popular actor Shun Oguri (26) is taking on his first directing job. While actors becoming directors is nothing new, this is said to be the first case for a star still in his twenties. The movie's official title is still unknown, but those close to the project are apparently calling it "Surely Someday."

Oguri, who is currently overseas for work, plans to start shooting this summer. Details are sparse, but the film is said to be a story of adolescence that will feature a cast of handsome actors.

Oguri has wanted to try directing for a long time. He was able to get this project rolling with the help of producer Mataichiro Yamamoto, who heads Oguri's management agency Tristone, and his father, stage director Tetsuya Oguri. The actor has already done a little directing, working on the short "manner CM" that played in theaters for "Crows ZERO II."

"Surely Someday" is expected to open in theaters next year.

this is such wonderful news!Shun-kun is really expanding his horizons even further, being an actor, stage performer, seiyu (voice actor) and radio host, and now a verified director also! I'm really happy for him, I have complete faith in his talents, skills and devotion towards his work, he's very passionate with what he does

I hope he invites his close friends Mao-chan and Matsujun in the movie! Or I would love to see the 3 reunited with the rest of the HYD gang, so Abe Tsuyoshi and Matsuda Shota included too! I have a good feeling Jun may be included in the movie, seeing as he and Shun are such close friends like brothers, they're both very supportive of each other, so if Jun has the time, I'm sure he would agree instantlySame with Mao-chan, she's very close to Shun too and is also very supportive of him

Ganbatte Shun!

More "Gokusen" cast details [May 27, 2009]:
With "Gokusen: The Movie" less than a couple months away, a new announcement has revealed that six more actors from the drama's earlier seasons will be returning, including Shun Oguri and Mocomichi Hayami.

The movie is already known to focus on the cast of the show's third season, which aired in 2008. It was previously announced that Yuya Takaki, Haruma Miura, and Yuta Tamamori are part of the main cast. At the end of last month, it was also revealed that the second season's Kazuya Kamenashi was added to the cast.

Now, the number of returning alumni has again increased, adding three students each from the drama's first two seasons. Oguri will represent the first season, along with Yuma Ishigaki and Hiroki Narimiya. From the second season, Hayami will be joined by Teppei Koike and Keisuke Koide.

Although all six played delinquent students in their respective seasons, they have grown up to become respectable members of society. Together with Kamenashi's character, who has become a teacher in training, these graduates will lend their support to the beloved teacher "Yankumi," played by starring actress Yukie Nakama. This movie is said to be Nakama's last time to take on this role.

Filming for the movie finished on May 13. The picture opens in theaters on July 11.
