Shun in Gokusen movie!

Well, initially, there were rumors that Shun will come back for the upcoming Gokusen movie, although he was never officially confirmed...and since lately, the only "old" cast member from either of the previous 2 seasons who has been heavily promoted for his return is Kamenashi Kazuya from the popular boyband KAT-TUN...I just assumed that Shun would not be returning, since there was NO 'official' announcement of him or any of the other "rumored" cast members coming back..at least, I personally didn't come across any confirmation.
So imagine my shock when I saw the recent trailer of the movie, and sure enough, Shun appeared! So did his co-star & friend in season 1 Narimiya Hiroki who played "Noda", and Ishigaki Yuma who played "Minami"! Waki Tomohiro who played "Kuma" is also confirmed to return, the 4 of them are back! Yay! They'll all be reprising their roles in the movie. The only character missing from the main 5 original students is Sawada Shin, Matsujun is still missing from the cast list, there's a great possibility that he won't be returning at all...then again, we wouldn't know for sure, perhaps his appearance is meant for a big surprise? After all, I don't think many expected Shun, or any of the other 3 original guys to come back...lately, only Kame's return has been promoted heavily, so all along he's been known as the only "old" cast from the previous 2 seasons to come back, while everyone else's existence in the movie has been very low-key...I'm guessing maybe their roles are too small in comparison to be heavily promoted.
We'll just have to wait and see to find out if Jun will return...I hope he comes back and joins his original 3-D gang *fingers crossed* But if it turns out that he doesn't return, I'm still happy that at least all my other favorite casts are back! SHUN, Kame, Hiroki, Yuma & Waki! I'm really excited about this movie!

here's the official trailer I saw with Shun, Hiroki & Yuma:

they appear starting at 1:11.

[news] Shun & Yamada Yu living together + possible marriage

I'm so sorry for not updating these past few days, I've been so pre-occupied with other things and haven't searched for any updates on Shun.

But, today, I went to check back at Shun's LJ and came across the latest article on his relationship with Yamada Yu...

2s6t17m.jpg

Basically, there are fresh rumors going around that Shun's girlfriend of 1 year Yamada Yu has moved into his apartment...they were seen shopping and renting DVDs together near Shun's apartment, and they appeared to be still very much in love.

here's the article:
http://community.livejournal.com/oguri_shun/447006.html

There rarely has been any updates on the progress of their relationship, so for a while, we've been clueless on how their relationship's been going. Although during all this time, there has been numerous break up rumors surrounding them, but all the while the couple has tried to deny these rumors.

I'm not sure about these recent rumors of them living together and a possible marriage...but if it's true, I'm happy for them, as long as Shun's happy and I quite like Yamada actually, she's very pretty and seems to bring a lot of happiness to our Shun, that's all I can ask for from her.

Ratings update

here's this week's ratings update...

Ratings for Smile episode 4 dropped to 9.2% this week; a 3.1% fall from last week, but it's still a good rating.

Meanwhile, Tenchijin ep 19 faired much better with 20.2%; that's a massive 3.5% rise from last week...but it seems the ratings for the drama is becoming more and more unpredictable...the drama started out very steady and ratings had been very close for the first 12 episodes...then the ratings started to rise and fall like a rollercoaster ride...I really have no idea how next week will be, it could really go either way...a rise in ratings is always good news, but if the ratings were to drop, hopefully it won't drop too much.

Shun in 'Smile' ep 1 - 4

I had wanted to post this clip yesterday, but didn't get a chance to, so here it is...

[news] Tenchijin turns to mobile manga

"Tenchijin" adapted as mobile manga, boys-love style [May 11, 2009]:

The taiga drama "Tenchijin," which currently airs on Sunday nights on NHK, is being turned into a manga for mobile phones. This is the second time that a taiga drama has been adapted as a comic, after "Yoshitsune" in 2005, but it will be the first distributed in digital form.

However, the manga will have a fairly different feel from the drama series. With several good-looking actors in the show, including the star Satoshi Tsumabuki, it was decided that the manga will have a "boys-love" (BL) flavor, with the main character of Naoe Kanetsugu (played by Tsumabuki in the drama) more closely resembling a boy from a shoujo manga. The artist in charge is Kairi Shimotsuki, who has previously done both BL titles and mainstream titles, including the comic adaptation of the popular "Sengoku Basara" video game series.

The "Tenchijin" manga is being aimed at women in their teens and twenties. Sony Digital Entertainment is handling production and distribution, making installments available on the Zenryoku Shoten site at a price of 50 yen per story (about 12-14 pages). Distribution will begin on May 27.

There will be three arcs, each focusing on a different pairing with Kanetsugu. The first deals with Uesugi Kagekatsu (Kazuki Kitamura in the drama), while the subsequent two involve Ishida Mitsunari (Shun Oguri) and Sanada Yukimura (Yu Shirota), respectively.

Based on the fan response, there is a possibility that the manga will later be sold in book form.
