I'm not sure what this is exactly, but it seems there's going to be a function held in relations to the upcoming Crows Zero II movie, the function will be held on Feb 22 and start at 2:22am in the morning (yes, very late)...here's the poster:

the poster was taken from Kyousuke Yabe's blog.

More updates!

I have updates on the ratings for Shun's taiga drama Tenchijin...its ratings for ep 2 last week was 23.5; that's a slight drop from its premier ratings of 24.7, however very recently the ratings has climbed back up to 24.7 for its 3rd ep this week! Congratulations to the cast & the rest of the production team!

Also, the dvd for the making of his much anticipated Crows Zero II sequel is available for pre-order at Amazon:

another dvd that's currently available for pre-order at CDJapan is his 2004 drama Return March:

And if I'm correct, the guy standing behind Shun wearing the grey shirt in the pic is Kiritani Kenta; the actor who also co-starred with Shun in Crows Zero, he played the role of 'Tokio'.

Tenchijin

Some updates on Shun's most recent taiga drama Tenchijin...

apparently it premiered on Sunday (4th of Jan) and gathered an average rating of 24.7 in the Kanto area; the best start for any taiga drama in 5 yrs, it's a big achievement, so omedatou to the cast & crewit even beaten last yr's taiga drama 'Atsuhime' (which inspired the production of 'Tenchijin') by 4.4% in the ratings.

However, despite of its debut success, because NHK is eager to release its major drama project which they are currently working on, 'Tenchijin' will be cut short and will have 47 eps in total, which is shorter than previous taiga dramas.

I'm not sure how long taiga dramas generally are, but 47 eps is already A LOT if you ask me!

Also, thanks to franniewei @ AF, we have more info on Shun's upcoming stage play Musashi...it will premier on March 4 in Saitama city...it has been 6 years since Shun & Fujiwara Tatsuya last worked together in a stage play, the last play they appeared in together was Hamlet, directed by Ninagawa Yukio; the same theater director who Shun has worked with for all his stage plays.

Musashi press conference

Here's the press conference for Shun's upcoming stageplay Musashi with Fujiwara Tatsuya:

credits to franniewei for sharing at AF & kidakada for uploading.

In the play, Tatsuya will star as the protagonist 'Musashi', while Shun will portray his arch enemy 'Kojiro'. The play is based on the famous japanese historical battle between the 2 ancient samurais.

Cast of 'Crows Zero II' pray for movie success!

Here's a clip of Shun and the rest of the Crows Zero II casts visiting a japanese shrine to wish for the sequel's success

During the clip, Shun forgot the next step of the ritual before someone in the crowd reminded him and he proceeded with the step, while his co-stars were laughing in the background! hehe oops!

and he looks so good in kimono don't you think?

I'm not worried, I'm sure CZII will do very well in the box office, seeing the tremendous success the first movie has been, and with the addition of rising star Miura Haruma to the cast, I have complete faith in the sequel, I have a strong feeling it's going to do just as well, if not even better than the 1st one!Ganbatte!!
